I get requests from clients quite frequently who have small budgets but would like to have a basic portfolio site that can be updated. It used to be that I couldn’t take on this type of work simply because the work involved far outweighed the budget and there isn’t a CMS that I’ve seen that handles large volumes of images in a very efficient way.

So the idea for Satellite™ was born. And by the way – its free!

Satellite™ is an application that allows templates to be created and all the content is populated through a Yahoo! flickr account. Flickr has a wonderful API which allows the software to import and display images on external websites. They can be sorted however the user has them setup in their flickr account. So flickr becomes the CMS and Satellite™ is the users’ front end.
